The Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF), hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy in September 2022, was a joint convening of the 13th Clean Energy Ministerial and the 7th Mission Innovation Ministerial. Storycraft Lab led the creative strategy and design direction for this inaugural event, transforming complex global energy conversations into a cohesive and engaging experience.
Our work included the development of a comprehensive creative brief, an Experience Map to identify key touchpoints, and design renderings for environmental and spatial design. This immersive experience communicated the theme “The Year of Implementation”, inviting global leaders, industry experts, and the public to engage with the clean energy future.
Role: Creative Director, Creative Strategist and Spatial Design Lead.
Deliverables: Creative Strategy & Experience Map, Spatial & Environmental Design Concepts, Mainstage Design, Environmental Graphics Package, Fabrication & Production Support.
Process:
We began by defining the creative strategy and experience framework, collaborating with stakeholders to align on the event’s vision. Using an Experience Map, we identified key touchpoints and developed spatial and environmental concepts that brought “The Year of Implementation” to life.
Our design approach emphasized movement and growth, incorporating ripple-inspired elements and immersive lighting to create cohesive, engaging environments. Partnering with production teams, we provided design documentation and support, ensuring seamless fabrication and execution of spatial designs, main stage environments, and a comprehensive graphics package.
